Ms. Summers is the President of Heritage Behavioral Health Consultants, Inc. She is dedicated to developing a true group practice, where clinicians collaborate with each other for the benefit of all clients. She has brought together a group of clinicians with diverse backgrounds and experience to work at Heritage, each clinician contributing a unique perspective to the practice.

Ms. Summers brings with her a wide variety of training in psychology, substantial clinical experience, and training as a professional/personal life coach. She also has been trained in the areas of family mediation and crisis intervention. She has a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Houston Baptist University and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over twenty years. She began her private practice career in 1987 by working with high-risk teens and families involved with Children’s Protective Services. She also led social skills groups for children and communication skills groups for adolescents and adults. Ms. Summers has since broadened her experience through years of work with children suffering from depression, anxiety, and Attention-Deficit Disorder. She is often asked to speak at the local, state and national level.

In addition to her experience with children, Ms. Summers has experience working with adults in individual, marital and family counseling. She specializes in working with adults with long-term interpersonal difficulties, particularly those difficulties resulting from emotional, physical and sexual abuse. Ms. Summers is willing to involve her faith in her work with adults, and has a particular interest in working with clients that desire a Christian perspective.

As a personal and professional coach, Ms. Summers works in partnership with individuals who want to live an extraordinary life. This natural teacher specifically enjoys working with therapists, entrepreneurs and executives in the development of their careers and personal lives, both in face-to-face sessions and via telephone coaching.

Outside of her counseling work, Ms. Summers develops seminars, and consults with schools, churches, and business organizations. She is committed to developing an organization that offers clinical expertise in the treatment of the whole person emotionally, physically, spiritually, and intellectually. At the podium, in the counseling office, or otherwise, Julie experiences life with energy and enthusiasm as she incorporates humor into her honest, practical approach to problem solving.
